Ideal Protein – Your Last Diet
Chiropractic USA now provides a state of the art weight loss program. Ideal Protein is a 4-Phase eating modification plan (or “treatment”) that helps stabilize the pancreas and blood sugar levels while buring fat and maintaining muscle and other lean tissue. This 4-Phase plan is for long-term health promotion and weight control, not a “diet” that leaves participants with the “now what?” question after weight has been lost.

The typical American diet consists of processed foods – refined sugar products – that overwork the pancreas. These carbohydrates are converted to sugar and either burned as energy or converted to stored fat. Insulin is the “fat storage hormone” The pancreas is overworked and dysfunctional. A dysfunctional pancreas produces too much insulin which leads to low blood sugar and then leads to more sugar cravings.
Your body gets its fuel or energy from three sources: 1) carbohyrates, 2) protein, and 3) fat. Carbs (glycogen) are used first, followed by protein and fat reserves. After approximately 3 days on the Ideal Protein Protocol, your glycogen reserves are depleted and your body begins burning stored fat. This results in production of ketone bodies which are natural appetite suppressants. On day 4 you start losing weight (fat) while nourishing your muscle with high quality, high absorbable Ideal Protein foods. During this time you will also reset your pancreas so when you return to normal eating, your pancreas won’t refill your fat reserves.
